Meet Rachael Nurvue, an enthusiastic advocate for women in the construction industry in Papua New Guinea.
For the past 4 years, she has used her knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and maths (#STEM) in her role as Contract Administrator on the #ANGAUHospitalRedevelopment. Rachael has a degree in Building from the University of Technology (Unitech) and a Masters in Construction Practice from Bond University in Australia.

Rachael is a mentor to other #women working on Quantity Surveying in the project. Rachael’s passion for encouraging others to consider work in the industry led her to establish the PNG Women In Construction network. The network provides a space for women to share knowledge, learn from and support others.
“STEM plays an important role in the changing world. Technology has simplified things that we thought were complicated. It is important for women to be involved in STEM because it is what the world needs, and equal participation and contribution gives diverse knowledge and skillset in the developing world,” said Rachael.
