“For regular recruit applicants, the process has been completed,” she said.

“We have a total of 453 successful candidates who will be informed of when they will come to the college.”

Clarkson said the list would soon be made public and the successful candidates would be informed on when the training would start.

“A high number of shortlisted applicants were ruled out during the screening processes, some due to having no proper identification and not passing the medical exams. It demonstrates how stringent this new recruitment process was,” she added.

She said a group of shortlisted officer cadet applicants from outside centers would be interviewed by the executive interview panel today. “A total of 58 candidates were shortlisted for the final executive interview panel,” she said.

“One group will be interviewed in Hagen and the other here in Port Moresby.

“The Hagen panel flew out yesterday.”

The panels will be asking questions around dealing with certain situations, managing crises, officer cadet’s integrity and accountability.

Clarkson explained that they would have the final list of all successful cadet candidates released by next week.
