Paradise College students Rualdiro Makindi and Getrude Angel Waifaf have achieved remarkable success at the GENIUS Olympiad, held from June 10 to 14 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, USA.
Among 2,452 projects submitted from 65 countries, Makindi, a Grade 9 student, and Waifaf, a Grade 10 student, were selected as finalists in the Arts and Creative Writing categories, respectively. Waifaf won the Gold Medal in Creative Writing with her inspiring poetry, while Makindi earned the Silver Medal in the Arts category for his exceptional artistic talent.
The achievements of these students highlight the potential of Papua New Guinea students to excel on the international stage when given the opportunity and support. Their success is a testament to their hard work and passion.
Paradise College extended gratitude to all stakeholders who supported the students, including parents, supervisors, Ms. Potoura, Mr. Kavan, and principal Mr. Iliyas. Their dedication was instrumental in the students' success.
