The Papua New Guinea Government Tuition Fee Subsidy (GTFS) of K766.4 million for the 2023 Academic Year has been broken down to three major components.
K485.12 million which is 80 percent, is for Grants to schools and 20 percent which is K121.28 million is for the Commodity Component, while for Project fees is K160 million.

PNG Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra says, all Provincial Education Advisors and Provincial Education Boards are required to ensure the Government Tuition Fee Subsidy Policy is implemented successfully.
He further says, that no school administration or governing board is to charge any fees or refuse any child from enrolling or attending school for the 2023 academic year.
Secretary Kombra says, with the government GTFS the Marape-Rosso Government is committed to quality education under the Government Tuition Fee (GTF) Policy.
Dr Kombra warns any teacher, principle or school board that disobeys this directive will face disciplinary action.
Meantime, during parliament session yesterday, Education Minister Jimmy Uguro says, the government is committed in paying the fees on time with the Treasury Department to release 50 percent of TFF and project fees next week.
