A total of 758 students from East Sepik Province have secured places in tertiary institutions across Papua New Guinea for 2025, according to the DHERST Tertiary Selection list. Among them, Passam National High School emerged as the top-performing institution, with 178 students selected for various colleges and universities.

Passam National High led the tally with 88 students heading to universities, 51 to technical colleges, and five to teachers' colleges. Mercy (Yarapos) Secondary followed with 91 selections, including 31 university entrants. Brandi Secondary ranked third with 87 students selected, comprising 28 university placements.

The report also highlights non-school leavers who made up a significant portion of the selections, with 81 students securing places, including 10 heading to teachers' colleges and 25 to technical colleges. These figures underscore the diverse pathways to higher education available in the province.
Other schools contributing notable numbers include Maprik Secondary (78 selections), Bishop Leo Secondary (57), and Yangoru Secondary (49). Smaller schools like Brugam Secondary and Nagum Adventist Secondary School also had students making it to tertiary institutions.
The DHERST report underscores the performance of East Sepik schools in facilitating access to tertiary education and highlights the importance of diverse educational institutions in the province.
