Tertiary Selection Report for Madang Province 2025

Here is the tertiary selection reported for 2025 for Madang Province, based on DHERST data. Tusbab Secondary topped the list with 130 students securing placements in various tertiary institutions. These include 40 students progressing to universities, 29 to technical colleges, 48 to business colleges, 7 to schools of nursing, and 6 to teachers' colleges.

Malala Catholic Secondary and non-school leavers both recorded 58 selections each. Malala Catholic's students included 14 placed in universities, 13 in technical colleges, and 22 in business colleges. Non-school leavers showed strong representation across all categories, with placements in business colleges (28), universities (10), and technical colleges (11).

Tertiary Selection Report for Madang Schools 2025

Karkar Secondary followed with 38 selections, including 11 in technical colleges, 6 in teachers' colleges, and 5 in universities. St. Michael's (Brahman) Secondary had 35 students selected, with a significant portion placed in technical colleges (12) and business colleges (17).

Other schools, such as Good Shepherd Lutheran Secondary and Megiar Secondary, also performed well with 23 and 13 students selected respectively. Holy Spirit Secondary secured placements for 12 students, with notable representation across multiple categories.

In total, 395 students from Madang Province secured places in tertiary institutions. This included 85 students admitted to universities, 100 to technical colleges, 162 to business colleges, and others spread across schools of nursing, teachers' colleges, and the agriculture college. These results reflect the province's dedication to higher education opportunities.
