Tertiary Selections Report for Simbu Province 2025

 According to data released by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST), Simbu Province recorded 573 students securing places in various tertiary institutions for 2025. These placements include universities, business colleges, technical colleges, and schools of nursing and teaching, showcasing the province’s strong commitment to education.

The data revealed that Kundiawa Lutheran Day Secondary School led the province, sending 133 students to tertiary institutions. Of these, 58 students secured places at universities, with the remainder distributed across other institutions. Kerowagi Secondary followed closely, with 132 students selected, further demonstrating strong academic output from the province.

Non-school leavers also made a significant contribution to the total, with 63 individuals securing placements. This group included 11 students selected for university studies, while others were admitted into technical colleges, business colleges, and nursing schools. The inclusion of non-school leavers highlights the broader access to higher education opportunities in Simbu.

Other schools in the province recorded notable achievements as well. Muaina Secondary had 69 students selected, Yauwe Moses Secondary recorded 46 selections, and Rosary (Kondiu) Secondary School added 51 students to the list. These figures underscore the dedication of schools across Simbu Province to academic success.
