Tertiary Selection Report for Western Highlands Province 2025

 According to the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST), students from Western Highlands Province have been successfully selected for the 2025 academic year in various tertiary institutions across the country. The selection data shows a strong representation from both school leavers and non-school leavers.

Mt. Hagen Secondary School stands out with the highest number of students selected, totaling 356, which includes 111 students in Agriculture, 14 in Business, 46 in Nursing, 58 in Teachers College, and 127 in Technical College. Following closely, Hagen Park Secondary School had 222 students selected, while Paglum Secondary contributed 118 students to the tertiary intake.

The non-school leaver group also saw significant participation, with 132 individuals securing places in different tertiary programs. These non-school leavers were selected for a range of disciplines, including Agriculture, Business, Nursing, Teachers College, and Technical Colleges.

Other schools contributing to the selection include Kui Wamp Nga Secondary with 127 students, Kitip Lutheran Secondary with 57, and Togoba Secondary with 81. Smaller schools such as Pabrabuk Secondary, Tambul Secondary, and Kiripia Secondary also made notable contributions, with selections ranging from 21 to 37 students each.

This announcement reflects a diverse range of fields selected from the province, emphasizing the availability of educational opportunities in Agriculture, Business, Nursing, and Technical Training.
