Describing the partnership as pivotal for national development, Mr. Dekena commended KPHL for investing in the country’s top science, technology, engineering, and mathematics students. He said the collaboration would shape the future of PNG by equipping young minds with international education and experience.
“KPHL’s support of the STEM program is a milestone for PNG,” the Minister said. “This initiative allows our brightest students to study at world-class institutions and return home ready to contribute to the country’s progress.”
The Minister also acknowledged several individuals who have independently supported the program. He praised the efforts of Mr. Atlan Gou from Edevu Hydro and Dr. Clement Waine for their commitment to educational development.
Mr. Dekena emphasized that although the STEM Program is primarily government-funded, its growth depends on continued collaboration. He called on other corporate bodies to partner in the cause.
“Let’s all invest in education—because the future of PNG depends on the youth we empower today,” he stated.
