Meet Dee-Andra Betabete, 23, a young graduate from the University of Papua New Guinea, who is now five months into her first job as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) officer working under the Australia-Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP).
Dee-Andra has a degree in Political Science and experience working short part-time engagements with NGOs in conducting surveys, data entry and collection and basic enumeration roles.
“Every job, big or small, has pearls of wisdom you can get from and skills that you may think is not important but one day this little job will get you places you never imagined,” said Dee-Andra.
Since working with the APEP program, Dee-Andra has been learning about the latest digital tools and software used to capture, store, and analyse data in the monitoring and evaluation space.
“My ambition for working with APEP is to learn as much as I can about MERL and from all the other experienced colleagues I work with. I want to build my skills and knowledge and that is my goal to achieve working with APEP,” said Dee-Andra.
