Australia Awards Recipient Champions Capacity Building for Smallholder Farmers

 In 2022, Tracey Masing was honored with the Australian Alumni Women in Leadership Award. Masing, who has made significant contributions in her field, continues to shine as a leader and role model for many in Papua New Guinea.

Masing serves as the Community Engagement Manager for Hargy Oil Palms Limited in West New Britain. Currently, she is pursuing further studies through the Australia Awards Graduate Certificate in Leadership short course at the University of South Australia, which is enhancing her leadership skills and knowledge.

As part of her studies, she is working on a workplace project aimed at providing financial literacy and capacity-building training. This initiative is designed to benefit smallholder farmers and plantation employees, equipping them with essential skills for managing their finances.

Masing expressed her gratitude for the opportunities provided by the Australia Awards Short Course, emphasizing how it is positively impacting her professional development. She highlighted the importance of such programs in empowering individuals in leadership roles.

She also encourages more Papua New Guineans to apply for the Australia Awards Short Course, believing that these educational opportunities can greatly contribute to both personal and community growth.
