Tertiary Selections Report for Autonomous Region of Bougainville AROB 2025

 The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) has announced the 2025 tertiary selection results for the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB), highlighting the achievements of students from the region.




Performance Overview

Below is the summary of tertiary placements for schools in AROB:


  1. St. Mary's (Asitavi) Secondary: 36 students secured places, with 9 in Business College, 5 in Teachers College, 7 in Technical College, and 15 in universities.
  2. Tonu Secondary: 55 students were selected, distributed as 1 in Agriculture College, 21 in Business College, 1 in School of Nursing, 7 in Teachers College, 11 in Technical College, and 14 in universities.
  3. Hutjena Secondary School: 59 students gained admission, with 1 in Agriculture College, 28 in Business College, 1 in School of Nursing, 7 in Teachers College, 8 in Technical College, and 14 in universities.
  4. Arawa Secondary: 37 students were selected, with 14 in Business College, 2 in Teachers College, 10 in Technical College, and 11 in universities.
  5. Bishop Wade (Talena) Secondary: 44 students secured places, with 24 in Business College, 4 in Teachers College, 6 in Technical College, and 10 in universities.
  6. Buin Secondary: 38 students were selected, with 13 in Business College, 1 in School of Nursing, 8 in Teachers College, 9 in Technical College, and 7 in universities.
  7. Runa Secondary: 4 students gained admission, with 1 in Business College, 2 in Technical College, and 1 in university.

Non-School Leavers: 21 students were selected, with 14 in Business College, 2 in School of Nursing, 3 in Teachers College, and 2 in Technical College.

Overall Results

A total of 294 students from AROB secured places in tertiary institutions, categorized as follows:


  • 2 students to Agriculture Colleges.
  • 124 students to Business Colleges.
  • 5 students to Schools of Nursing.
  • 36 students to Teachers Colleges.
  • 55 students to Technical Colleges.
  • 72 students to universities.
