Mr. Masere said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to equipping young people with the skills needed to contribute to national development upon their return.

The scholarship program supports students in various academic fields, aimed at strengthening the district’s future workforce. Nine students departed today, with the remaining nine set to travel next week.

The DSIP-funded education support program has become one of the district’s flagship initiatives, focusing on empowering youth through higher learning opportunities abroad.

Mr. Masere reiterated that education remains a driving force behind Popondetta’s development agenda and called on the recipients to make the most of the opportunity.

“The Popondetta District is investing in its future, sponsoring 18 local students to pursue studies in China,” he said.
